Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly Characteristics Affecting Rainfall in Western Java, Indonesia

چکیده
Western Java is densely populated with high socio-economic activity. Climate-related disasters can be mitigated the support of an understanding systems that produce reliable climate predictions. One variables included in hydrometeorological rainfall. The characteristics rainfall cannot separated from sea surface temperature (SST) around area. This study compares relationship between SST and singular value decomposition (SVD) it Pearson's correlation. SVD Model performance was evaluated using square covariance fraction (SCF) Pearson results showed has a higher correlation Anomaly (SSTA) by SVD, about 0.63 6 to 9 months without lag time. Rainfall western closely related positive SSTA anomaly southern Indonesia, especially waters south Island, negative anomalies other areas. Furthermore, atmospheric dynamic analysis coefficient expansion followed warmer SST, lower air pressure, water vapor, rainfall, all were respective their normal conditions Java. concludes causes increased than potentially impacts hydrological disaster West

Global Warming Pattern Formation: Sea Surface Temperature and Rainfall
Spatial variations in sea surface temperature (SST) and rainfall changes over the tropics are investigated based on ensemble simulations for the first half of the twenty-first century under the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission scenario A1B with coupled ocean–atmosphere general circulation models of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) and National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)...
متن کاملTropical cyclone rainfall area controlled by relative sea surface temperature
Tropical cyclone rainfall rates have been projected to increase in a warmer climate. The area coverage of tropical cyclones influences their impact on human lives, yet little is known about how tropical cyclone rainfall area will change in the future. Here, using satellite data and global atmospheric model simulations, we show that tropical cyclone rainfall area is controlled primarily by its e...
متن کاملanalysis of sea surface current in sea surface temperature images
oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. for instance sea surface temperature (sst) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. the purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...
متن کاملRelationships between rainfall in the southwest of Western Australia and near-global patterns of sea-surface temperature and mean sea-level pressure variability
A statistically significant decrease in rainfall in southwest Western Australia (SWWA), since the middle of last century, has been reported in a number of studies (Wright 1974a, b; Pittock 1983; Nicholls and Lavery 1992; Yu and Neil 1993; Hennessy et al. 1999 and IOCI 2002). This decrease in rainfall not only affects economic activities in Western Australia, but a lack of understanding of mecha...
متن کاملAnomalous Rainfall over Southwest Western Australia Forced by Indian Ocean Sea Surface Temperatures
The potential impact of Indian Ocean sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies in modulating mid-latitude precipitation across southern and western regions of Australia is assessed in a series of atmospheric general circulation model (AGCM) simulations. Two sets of AGCM integrations forced with a seasonally evolving characteristic dipole pattern in Indian Ocean SST consistent with observed “dry-y...
